4K Screen Mirroring
A few years ago, users watched television and could not imagine the possibility of streaming self video signal. Then came the era of digital video broadcasting. The pursuit of the resolution of the video signal has led us to 4K television, streaming of high-definition video, as well as the ability to independently transfer our video content to other users in high quality. Technological progress does not stand still and 8K TVs and other devices are already appearing that allow you to view this kind of video signal.
The extended version of alfacast application supports streaming video up to 4K resolution. We also support video frame rates up to 60 FPS for a more comfortable viewing experience. The application automatically detects in which resolution the broadcast will occur. Alfacast analyzes the resolution of your display and video capture, the capabilities of your system, maximum video codec capability, as well as other parameters, and as a result the system decides what the target video resolution will be used. Of course, there is also a manual mode and user can select the desired resolution of the video stream. In the regular version of alfacast, the resolution of the video stream is always SD quality.
The user should remember – not all devices support 4K Ultra HD quality with 60 FPS. The final video resolution depends from: video codec, user’s devices performance, streamer and viewer displays resolution. The first major requirement is the video display with 4K resolution on the streamer side. Alfacast app does not upscale Full HD resolution to 4K Ultra HD. To have 4K Ultra HD video signal on viewer side the user must provide:
• The video display with 4K Ultra HD resolution at 60 FPS on the streamer side
• Streamer device with 4K Ultra HD resolution encoder support
• Viewer device with 4K Ultra HD resolution decoder support
• Good network quality connection between streamer and viewer devices
